Lorenzo Bernardi – Classical Guitar
the creation of an Italian classical music legacy
Presented by Istituto Italiano di Cultura, Madga Productions and Ipswich Civic Centre
Italy’s position in the Mediterranean and its grafting onto the heart of Europe are probably the elements that allowed “Bella Italia” to assimilate an incredible number of stimulation and experiences.
To explore this magnificent scenery and discover its aesthetic and spiritual values, a glance at the guitar, a popular, very versatile instrument, is the perfect dispenser of knowledge.
The six strings of the guitar, in fact, have accompanied all the adventures of humanity, interpreting the drama, emotions, sociality and individual introspection.
Born in Trento, Lorenzo Bernardi graduated from the Conservatory F.A Bonporti of Trento in 2015. He then continued his studies under the guidance of Emanuele Buono at the Conservatorio L. Canepa in Sassari, obtaining a Master’s Degree with Honours. He further specialised at Conservatorio de Musica Manuel Castillo in Seville, Spain, under the guidance of internationally renowned Professor and guitarist Francisco Bernier.
Aunty Delmae Barton, also recognised as Australia’s Dreamtime Opera Diva, will be presenting an Acknowledgement of Country at Lorenzo’s concert. Born in Emerald, Queensland, and a descendant of the Bidjara tribe (mother’s side), Aunty Delmae has performed around Australia and on the international stage.
